Higher Colleges of Technology Member Selected to Present at Ankabut Users’ Meeting

Abu Dhabi, 28, January, 2013

Ankabut announced today Dr. Mohammed Arif Amin, Abu Dhabi Men’s College, Higher Colleges of Technology has been selected as a speaker at the 8th Ankabut Users’ Meeting February 20th to be held at Paris Sorbonne University, Abu Dhabi. The event is under the Patronage of His Highness Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

Dr. Amin will speak on the topic of “An Introduction to Mobility in IPv6”. Internet Protocol was originally designed for fixed networks. IP addresses were associated with fixed network computers and were required to be unchanged for the session in progress. IPv4 is an example of protocol, which is been used since years and is based on 32 bit address; however, due to the growth in the internet, address space restriction and nonhierarchical structure of IPv4, the IP address availability expired. IPv6 was proposed to provide better and wider addressing scheme.

Mobile IPv6 has been proposed by IETF to support mobility for nodes in IPv6 networks, which aims to serve as a future mobility protocol.

Dr. Amin’s talk to highlight IPv6 and its introduction to mobility is an important issue to the entire technology community said Fahem Al Nuaimi, Chief Executive Officer of Ankabut. We received a record number of submissions and are excited to have members of the UAE community wishing to share their work with fellow colleagues.

The 8th Users’ Meeting is under the Patronage of His Highness Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and His Highness will give the opening address on the morning of the 20th of February. The keynote address will be given by Patrick Donath the General Manager of RENATER (The National Research and Education Network for France). In the afternoon presenters from the UAE will speak at breakout sessions with a reception immediately following the first day activities. The morning of the 21st will begin with Dr. Thomas Zacharia Executive Vice President of Research and Development at Qatar Foundation followed by The Ankabut Roundtable Sessions.
